Review Collection Guidelines
Here’s how to make the best use of the LocalReviews.app tool in your business:
- Initial App Test: Before using the app for the first time, please check the Initial App Setup below. It only takes a couple of minutes.
- Bookmark Your Review App URL: You’ll receive your custom URL in your welcome email. To make it easy to send review invitations, we recommend bookmarking it on your work computer and phone.
- Only request reviews from people you have recently done business with. You’ll get the best response if you ask/tell your client before sending the invite.
- Watch for client response emails. This is an opportunity to correct a problem and keep your client happy.
- Send only one invitation per client. The app will send a follow-up email automatically.
- Internal use only. Remind team members not to send your page/URL to the client. Instead, they’ll use that page to generate a review invitation.
- Add the Local Review app into your business process.
- On-Site Service Delivery: Invite your client to review your service at the point of payment or when scheduling another appointment. These include businesses like plumbers, massage therapists, and taxis.
- Remote Service Delivery: Invite your client to review your service during the final step in service delivery, when creating the invoice, or when the final service has been provided. These include web designers, associations, and insurance companies.
How to Increase Positive Reviews
To collect more positive reviews, we recommend only sending review invitations to happy clients.
If they aren’t happy, we recommend that the matter be handled first. Once they are happy, it’s a great time to invite their review.
Initial App Testing
Before using the app for collecting client reviews, please run these two simple tests. We want you to be familiar with the tool and ensure that it is set up correctly.
To test the app, please send two test invitations: These should be to two unique email addresses that you’ll receive.
- First Email Invitation: Click on the review link and ensure that it goes to your Google Business Profile. A box should appear where customers can give a star-rating and review.
- Second Email Invitation: Please don’t click on the first email. This will trigger a second email (first and final reminder) in 24 hours.
What to do with each of these emails:
- Proof check: Please read the text, check the link, and your company information.
- Please respond to one (or both) of these emails. This will ensure that you will receive client concerns.
